Unit 1 Video Exam

Congratulations!

You have completed the first session in the class and are on your way to become a professional poker dealer. You are now required to take you first video exam. Place the playing felt, which was included in your welcome kit down in front of you (see Video Exam Setup) aim the web camera, (also included) pointing down so that the camera is capturing the playing felt and the movements of your hands. Remember, an instructor will be reviewing this video to make a determination on the progress you have made and will notify you shortly of your test results. As you progress through the class we will continue to review these important skills, so do your best and good luck!

Exam Outline:

• Spading the Deck - This is an important function of any Casino Dealer. In order to maintian the integrety of the game it is necessary, before sitting down to deal or durring your break times to bring decks of cards back to their "Spaded" condition. This happens when every card is in rank order - Spades, Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds. Spades are on the bottom of the deck. As you put the cards in order make sure that every card is present.
  
  
• Fanning the Deck Front / Back - On the felt in front of you "Fan" the deck 4 times. Twice on both the back and the front to demonstrate that all of the cards are present. See the video example for a demonstration of what our instructors would like to see.
  
  
• Complete Shuffle Process (Repeat 5 Times) - This begins by Scrambling or "Washing" the cards, followed by a Riffle, Riffle, Strip, Riffle, and finishing with a one handed Cut. You must perform this manuver 5 Times in order to complete this portion of the exam.
  
  
• Dealers Grip - Please, pick up the deck of cards with your dealing hand and present to the camera how you hold the cards with a dealers grip. This will allow our instructors to provide you with feedback and helpful tips.

Video Exam Recorder



Exam Instructions:

• Make sure your webcam is plugged into a USB port and you are able to see video on the Video Exam Recorder
• Place the playing felt, which was included in your welcome kit, down in front of you
• Make sure your area is will lit
• Aim the web camera pointing down so that the camera is capturing the playing felt and the movements of your hands
• Review the Exam Outline and plan out each step of your video exam
• Start recording your Video Exam by clicking the Record button underneath the Live Video window
• When you are finished recording your Video Exam, click the Stop Recording button
• Preview your Video Exam and make sure you have satisfied the requirements from the Exam Outline
• Fill in any comments you may have to your instructer and click the Save button

Note: Your Video Exam will be submitted to your instructor for review, and he will assign you a grade. When the instructor finishes evaluating your exam you will get an email in your Message Center with the results.
